March 25, 2018 – Have you ever been to the beach of the Pacific Ocean?

Image
When I came to the United States of America in 2015 we flew from Frankfurt/Main to Los Angeles. A terrible long flight I can assure you, but this is another story. After we landed in Los Angeles on December 27, 2015 we stayed in a hotel in Los Angeles. The next morning, after my mistress picked up the rental car, we drove to Pahrump. Well, not right away. First my humans went to a place called Huntington Beach so that I could run on the beach. Back than I didn’t know what they were talking about. What is a beach and what is an ocean? When we arrived at the beach I could smell it, it smelled like fish and salt and, mmh, I do not know what, let’s say it smelled like ocean. Huntington Beach is one of the few beaches in the Los Angeles area where dogs are allowed to run free. There were a lot of dogs. Back than I did not understand English and I could not talk to the other dogs. No, just joking. Of course all dogs from all over the world speak the same language. I mentioned in one of

March 18, 2018 - These humans have the best food and I have to eat dog food

Did I mention that there are more people in the house than usually? Mary and her grandson are staying here for a while. That little boy is younger than my friend Cameron and hardly leaves his room. I think he might be afraid of me. That I can’t understand. I am the most friendly dog ever. Every time he comes out of his room I try to get in contact with him and he is not that afraid any more. Sometimes he and the other kids and teenagers in the house are too loud for me. When this happens I crawl under the desk where my humans are sitting and I hide. Yesterday the mother of that little boy came here, all the way from California to see him and her mother. And Sarah, Noelani’s friend was here and spent the night here. All the kids but Cameron left in the late morning with the visitors from California. Mary started to cook Philippine food. Lumpia she called it and something made out of noodles, she said these were cornstarch noodles with vegetables. I watched her filling and rolling t

March 13, 2018 – Walmart

Ok, this is crazy, even to me. Remember I told you I am an official Emotional Dog? Today my humans took me with them again. They said they need to do some groceries and as they are still afraid I might eat another poisoned mouse they take me with them when they both leave the house. Today it was quite warm outside, about 24°C/75F and it get’s hot in the car. The other times they took me to a place called Walmart I had to stay in the car, but today they wanted to take me inside. I don’t really know what Walmart is but I know that when they bring home food for me that say they have been to Walmart and they get all this good stuff there which I am not allowed to eat because it is “HUMAN FOOD”. Don’t you think that’s wrong, Dog food and human food and cat food and fish food and so on? Why can’t we eat all the same food? I admit human food smells way better than my food but my food comes in a bag or a can and they just have to fill that into my bowl while they have to prepare their food in

March 10, 2018 - Shoshone

My humans are crazy. Yesterday they found out that the lottery Powerball had almost 400 million dollars in the jackpot and they decided to purchase tickets for this. They can play in this lottery without being US citizens they said. There is only one little problem – we are in Nevada and you can’t purchase tickets for Powerball in Nevada. My mistress always says problems are a challenge and you just need to accept the challenge to solve the problem. Well, here we got; all they had to do was to go to California. Luckily the state line to California is just a couple of miles from here and Shoshone is the next town. So this morning they took me with them in the car to go to Shoshone to purchase tickets for Powerball. They were prepared for everything as two years ago they tried the exact same thing but had to wait in line for more than four hours to purchase tickets. Of course the jackpot was much higher then, around 1 billion dollars. Going to Shoshone is a really nice trip through the

March 6, 2018 – Scorpion

It’s more than a week now that I had that little poisoned mouse as an appetizer and I am fine. After I realized what I have done I was really worried. Looks like there is more danger than poisoned mice in the desert. Yes, I know, not all mice in the desert are poisoned, just the ones around the house. But there are other animals here that are dangerous. My mistress found a scorpion in the bathroom the other day. It wasn’t a big one, still a baby, but it already can sting and is poisonous. The scorpions my mistress found seems to be the Arizona bark scorpion, the most venomous scorpion in North America. It’s not deadly but it can cause severe pain, tingling, vomiting and illness that lasts up to three days. My mistress took a vacuum cleaner to remove it from the ceiling. Did you know that scorpions could be very fast? Besides the scorpions there are black widows, a spider. They are poisonous but not deadly. The venom of the black widow is reported to be 15 times stronger than ra
